Ask your self.......
how many hours a day do you spent in front of a computer just navigating in the web?
is it really worth to spend hours and hours of your life with a virtual partner?...
Well this may sounds like questions without logic but if you think about it and you analize your self you will be sorprise how most of your free time goes away without using it.
The problem is not when you just use the internet for couple of hours a week, the problem is when you can not control your self about how often you want to use it. The internet has many addictions, such as chats with uknown people, websites that let you make your life public "face books and others and we preffer to be in the internet than spend time with people who is around us.
The internet offers thousands of things for example people can find boyfriends or girlfriends in websites. However, the truth of their personalities is hidde everyone can be whoever they want to be in the web, people describe them selves as tall when they are short skinny when they arw fat, blonde hair when they have brunnette hair and may other things. When someone find a friend in the internet and they really believe in those things the real life pass to be in a second place, they start to have dates and making each other believe they are really in love but what these people are forgetting is that they are in the internet and that is a place where everything you want to be is possible in minutes.... just writing.........
Are you one of those ?

Nice blog, Mayra! Just check your spelling and grammar a bit more (you can edit a blog if you want) or have a friend from class proofread and help you clean things up a bit. I'll point out 2 things right now: "yourself" = 1 word, not 2.....and you're missing a capital letter in paragraph 2 (the question you begin with.)
Putting that aside for a minute...
I really like what you've written here. I think that many people (myself included) spend many hours on the Internet every day. Internet addiction is a serious problem, which can interfere with a person's life. I know that when I'm on too much, I get behind in my cleaning, organizing, school work, etc.
The other problem, as you mentioned, is how people misrepresent themselves. Many people lie about how they look, what they believe and who they are. It's scary, isn't it?
What's crazy to me is when people fall in love without having met each other. They communicate through e-mail and over the phone for months and months, declaring their love for each other. One day, they meet and are unpleasantly surprised. There's no chemistry...or the other person's completely different.
So, as wonderful as the Internet is, it creates a whole new set of problems for people who use it, especially for people who make it a major part of their life.
Thanks for your blog on this very important subject!
